The materials result works without prices
Posts, rails, pickets or fabric, and fasteners are planning quantities based on the fence inputs. You can use that materials list even when you have not chosen a supplier or collected local prices.
The calculator does not include a built-in price list. That prevents it from presenting a price as though it applied to every location, material grade, or product choice.
Enter the local inputs for a cost result
To calculate the site's cost estimate, enter a price for each item in the local-prices area: posts, rails, pickets or slats, concrete bags, and fastener packs. Enter the values from the quote or product information you plan to use.
Concrete also needs two quantity inputs: the concrete volume per post and the yield of one bag. The calculator first uses those entries to calculate a bag count, then it can include the bag price in the total.
What the estimate represents
When all of those inputs are present, the calculator adds the selected material quantities using the prices you entered. It also shows a planning cost per linear foot. The result is a planning total for one continuous run, not a vendor quote, installed price, or guarantee.
If the cost box still asks for information
Check that every local-price field has a number and that both concrete fields have a value greater than zero. If you only want a materials plan, leave the cost inputs empty and use the quantities instead. Confirm final material choices, local requirements, and any quote directly before buying or building.
